![]() ![]() Well yes, my NAS is a QNAP TS-251+ and I got it to provide a backup device for my desktop and laptop PCs and to enable file sharing between them and to hold my music library which is all my CDs ripped to it using dBpoweramp. It may not be for you, but it is unfair to call it a rip off, especially if you have not tried it and experienced what it does. ![]() I have been trialling Roon for a week and will be subscribing when the trial ends. Requesting feature upgrades to Cambridge Audio is responded to politely, but there is no visible development plan, and I found the using Mconnect HD (£6 per controller, IOS or Android) instead was generally a more capable App. I too was using the Cambridge Connect app to control my CA Azure 851N streamer, and it is OK but not great and leaves quite a lot to be desired. I believe the Roon company is some 10 or 12 people, who have bills to pay and families to feed just like the rest of us. The work, effort and expertise that goes into delivering a quality piece of software like this, which is constantly evolving, is not a low cost exercise. It may not be right for you but to call it a rip off is grossly unfair. I could not disagree more, firstly it is about £385 for the lifetime licence, not £500, and there is the also annual option if you don't want to spring for so much cash. ![]()
